Community Advisory Group
Services
The CAG is a resident led group that meets monthly to raise local issues. Attended also by  Councillors, and representatives from other local organisations, such as CVCH, Compass Support and the TRA. The CAG ensures that issues that affect the estate’s continued improvement and success are addressed and moved forward. New members are always welcome

The CAG meets at The Pioneer Group, 11 High Street, Castle Vale at 10:30am on the second Tuesday of each month.

This group is a mixture of occupiers and leaseholders. They meet every 6 weeks and focus on a variety of topics such as community safety, lease extensions, service charge issues and benchmarking.

CVTRA offers support and advice for local groups and organisations in Castle Vale and Shard End, helping with funding, governance, safeguarding and other issues.

Volunteering – CVTRA seeks to provide volunteering opportunities for residents and groups as well as identify new volunteers from the local community.

CVTRA is open 6 days per week, including Saturday mornings and offers a late evening service on Thursdays. Please call or e mail for an appointment.

Castle Vale Neighbourhood Partnership provides the strategic overview of the estate and is responsible for the development of a neighbourhood plan which sets the direction and priorities for the neighbourhood focussing on good housing, a pleasant environment, community safety, health and wellbeing, jobs, training and education. The partners on the Neighbourhood Partnership Board include representatives from education, health, housing, BCC and WM Police with TRA and 6 residents elected by the community. The NPB meets quarterly to monitor the delivery of the neighbourhood plan and has a number of sub groups for each of the priority themes.

The 2005 Way Forward is a group which is made up of representatives from all the community groups on Castle Vale. The group originally started out as a scrutiny group. They currently hold monthly meetings which are sometimes attended by local councillors. Any resident is invited to attend as observers.

Services
Renfrew Square Residents group has been set up since 2008 and has made a number of physical improvements to the surrounding area some of these being £30,000 worth of improvements to Renfrew Square gardens and a significant amount of work with Filton Croft Play Area. This has included tackling ASB with the installation of CCTV cameras, replanting of the surrounding area and improvements to the play equipment. We have been working in partnership with CVCHA Wardens, our local police team, local schools and BCC to do this.

A residents group for Topcliffe House residents that focuses on ensuring a high standard of work with Topcliffe, organizing and obtaining funds for social functions, discussion of issues related to the block, first point of call for the landlord on general issues, and upholding equal opportunities and work towards good relations amongst all.
