Castle Vale Neighbourhood Partnership Board is working with the National Literacy Trust and local schools and nurseries to promote literacy and the love of books to families with young children.
More than one in five children struggle with literacy by the time they leave primary school.
This project aims to improve children’s literacy before they go to school by training local volunteers to help parents and carers support their children’s learning. Castle Vale Nursery and other educational centres in the area will also be key partners delivering this project.
